In Path of Exile 2, shortly after release, a skill is so overpowering that the developers have to nerf it

Path of Exile 2 has officially been released, but the developers are already weakening an initial ability. According to the developers, it is far too strong and not well balanced.

What kind of skill is it? The Ranger class has a skill called “Magnetic Salvo”. The skill is at gem level 13, which is very far down in the skill tree. With the ability you can deal a lot of area damage and thus take out many enemies at once. But that’s probably too much, the developers believe.

In a post on X.com, the Path of Exile 2 team writes that the ability is far too strong and that they want to weaken it with the next hotfix.

We have found another skill that is in an unacceptable state of balance. Following the same principle as before, we will also reduce the damage of Magnetic Salvo in the next hotfix. Please note that this is not the only skill we have on our radar at the moment, we really only want to deal with egregious cases at the moment.

We’re currently playing with you and collecting a lot of your feedback, which we’ll implement as best we can in the coming week once the team is back in the office before the holidays.

Not the first nerf and further adjustments to the abilities are to follow

What else do the developers say? The developers also explain that this is not the only skill that is currently being monitored. Further nerfs that adjust abilities could come in the near future.

If you have already put together your perfect build for your character, then you should be aware that some skills could still be adjusted. This time it hit the ranger.
