In Nigeria, 20 kidnapped students released | News in brief

In Nigeria, twenty kidnapped medical students have been released, local police inform.

Just over a week ago, armed men forced the students with them in the central parts of the country and later demanded money for their release.

According to Nigerian police, no ransom was paid. The students were rescued “tactically and professionally”, described the police spokesperson Prince Olumuyiwa Adejobi police operation.

Thousands of people are kidnapped in Nigeria every year.
