In New Caledonia, a state of emergency will be declared, in the face of an outbreak of violence. This French overseas territory, located in the South Pacific, was shaken by two nights of riots, which left 4 dead and hundreds injured. This anger was provoked by a decision by the executive, on a reform of the electoral body which the separatists do not want.
What does this reform imply, precisely, why does it provoke the anger of the separatists? Should we fear a civil war there?
