The initial series of the Men’s Superpesis ends on Sunday with a round of six matches.
Joensuu Maila’s men were the first to win Superpesis after playing the 24-round preliminary series after hosting Kouvola’s Ballonlöji on Friday. JoMa secured their place in the upper final series, even though they lost 0–1 (4–4, 2–2, 1–2).
After the periods ended in a tie for the hosts, the point that was lost to the hosts guaranteed that Hyvinkää Tahko will no longer be able to reach the top seven in Sunday’s final round.
– We didn’t get three-point situations quite as planned, but the most important thing was to score enough runs, commented the KPL joker, who homered four times individually, including the home run Patrik Wahlsten.
JoMan’s joker Joosua Rättö hit four runs, but the home team’s home run performance in a night of 20 triples cannot be praised. KPL got only 11 forwards for the third, so Wahlsten’s (home runs 3/5) and Teemu Nikkanen (3/3) the strikes were dangerous enough in the places of repatriation. In the take-off race, KPL only needed two pairs of Wahlsten and Matti Latvala after hitting a running man.

Manse PP, which is in the peak position, remained scoreless for the third time in the season after losing to Vimpelin Vedo, who visited Kaup, 0-2 (1-2, 5-9).
Veto won the opening period with 100% takedown efficiency Matias Rinta-ahon and Jukka-Pekka Vainionpää with batting runs. In the second episode, the guests’ locker Teemu Kinnunen doubled his season total after hitting 1+2 runs.
Seinäjoki’s Jymy-Jussit bullied Kempele’s Kiri until the tying game in the last inning, until Ossi Meriläinen a home run in a two-fire situation guaranteed the visitors a full point pot. Jussit lost 0-2 (2-3, 4-5).
Kiteen Pallo secured his place in the upper final series by claiming victory in Raahe. Pattijoki Urheilijat surrendered to their guests 0-2 (1-6, 1-5).
The preliminary series ends on Sunday with a round of six matches, after which the regular season continues in simple seven-team upper and six-team lower extension series. The points from the preliminary series remain valid.
