It’s time again for our MeinMMO format “MMORPG News in Two Minutes”. We summarize the most important news about the best genre in the world. Enjoy a return to Pandaria, gameplay from FFXIV: Dawntrail, and a new update for LOTRO. In addition, MMORPG hopefuls are starting new rounds of testing.

  • Update 40 entitled “Under Umbar” has been released for Lord of the Rings Online. Click here for the official release notes.
  • The developers at Eve Online presented the new Upwell ships with a video (via YouTube).
  • After the rather mediocre Steam release in March, Palia was able to earn significantly more positive user reviews. Nevertheless, there will probably be further layoffs at Singularity 6.
  • Albion Online continues to ride a wave of success after the release of the EU server. On Steam, the previous all-time record was broken.
  • The developers of Runescape have revealed the roadmap for the period from April to December 2024 (via the official website). You can expect fresh story content, events, group challenges and more.
  • The next update of Star Trek Online, “Unparalleled”, will be released for the PC on May 28, 2024. The console version will follow in June. With the patch, the developers are continuing the Borg saga and are also releasing a new task force and a fresh event (via Cryptic).
  • DC Universe Online will receive a new episode on May 23rd in which Brainiac makes his return (via YouTube).

    • Palia’s Steam release was mediocre, but ratings have continued to rise ever since.
