In Lost Ark on Steam, players were able to get really rich through an exploit, and now Amazon is reacting with the ban hammer

In Lost Ark, players exploited a bug to get millions of gold and good equipment. Now Amazon has reacted and banned the cheaters.

What kind of exploit was that? Lost Ark recently introduced the so-called start-up servers. These servers are intended to help new players get started with the MMORPG. To achieve this, Amazon Games Studios has added several systems and unlocked various bonuses.

All the bonuses made it possible to exploit an exploit that had to do with the Stronghold. Instead of one reward chest, you could secure several at the same time. The exploit gave players millions of gold, items and, most importantly, many important upgrade materials to upgrade their characters. Anyone who took advantage of the exploit will now receive a receipt.

Amazon swings the ban hammer

Who received a ban? Not everyone who opens a box gets a ban. Amazon Games Studios weights the severity of the cheating depending on how many cheated reward boxes were opened by the respective player. The developers announced the punishment in a post on the Lost Ark website.

In total, around 2,300 players received reward boxes. Of these, 1,200 did not open their boxes, they received no penalty, but lost their box. The remaining players receive penalties depending on the number of boxes:

  • Players who have opened 1-2 chests will lose the items they received. You will not receive a real ban, but may remain banned until the items are removed.
  • Players who have opened 3-7 crates will receive a two-week ban.
  • Anyone who has opened 8-14 boxes will have to give up their account for a month.
  • Anyone who has opened more than 15 boxes will initially be banned for 30 days, but the punishment will be assessed individually and permanent bans are also possible.
  • Amazon is really taking action and not letting even players who have only opened a few more boxes get away without a ban.

Is the exploit still in the game? The exploit is currently no longer possible because Amazon Games Studios has blocked access to Stronghold. If you’re stuck there, you’ll have to contact in-game support or wait until the next patch on October 23rd.

After the update, access to the Stronghold will be restored and the crates will then be available and usable again in their intended manner.

Currently is the best time to join Lost Ark again or again. The start-up servers bring good bonuses that allow beginners to quickly catch up with experienced players.
