War is a hellish experience. Not just because of the extreme violence, but because the lines between good and evil suddenly become blurred. At least that’s how it appears War film masterpiece Civil War, which opened in cinemas this April. It is currently at number 2 on the Netflix charts.

Civil War takes place in the USA in the near future. The country is torn apart by civil war, the president is considered a traitor and is preparing for the last stand in Washington. Before he dies, the legendary photographer Lee (Kirsten Dunst) and the journalist Joel (Wagner Moura) want to be with him conduct a final interview. The young, idealistic Jessie (Cailee Spaeny) joins them.

Civil War is one of the best films of the year. Many viewers were disturbed by a ten-minute scene in which the protagonists surprise a group of soldiers and their commander (Breaking Bad star Jesse Plemons) during a massacre. With red glasses on his nose and his rifle at the ready, Plemons leads a bizarre interrogation with the panicked journalists through something that you will never forget again. These and many other moments make Civil War not only a highlight of the Netflix charts, but one of the best films of the year.
