This is the future of Division 2: After not much to report on The Division 2 lately, other than unplanned postponements, the Ubisoft team last night revealed the future of The Division 2 and other projects in the franchise, such as The Division: Heartland, in its “Division Day” live stream .
From June 2023, players can look forward to a variety of new features that will be released in four different seasons. These will include new challenges, rewards, activities and even a new DLC.
Ubisoft is clearly committed to continuing to develop The Division franchise. Below we take a closer look at each of the four seasons and list the content known so far for you.
It’s all in Year 5 of The Division 2
The test servers are already live: First of all, the Season 1 update is coming up for The Division 2 in the new year 5. Although it won’t officially start until June 2023, it can already be played on the Ubisoft test servers today.
We list the planned periods for you. However, keep in mind that this could change if Ubisoft has to move content again.
Season 1 – “Broken Wings” – June to August 2023
Players can expect a new wanted target: Mari Singh. She is the former director of the DC Aquarium. But the well-known and meanwhile monotonous manhunt will be changed a bit.
The castle settlement also needs to be rebuilt or rebuilt, as Mari Singh used it as her headquarters. This will then continue throughout Year 5 in The Division 2.
New Free Mode: Season 1 will also bring a new and free mode, Descent. This is a rogue-lite mode set up as a simulation.
Season 2 Puppeteer – August to November 2023
Season 2 brings you a new Incursion in Meret Estate. Not much is known about this yet. But there will probably be another confrontation with the Cleaners. A clothing event was also announced here again.
Season 3 “Outpost” – November 2023 to February 2024
It’s back to New York: Aaron Keener, the main antagonist of the Warlords of New York expansion, apparently hasn’t had the last word yet.
So in Season 3 you have to return to New York City as a Division agent over the holidays. There more secrets about Aaron Keener and his renegades will be revealed.
Season 4 “Black Diamond” – February 2023 to May 2024
Finally a new DLC: The fourth and final season in The Division 2 Year 5 will then offer players a new DLC and with it a new story mission.
What do you need to be able to play the new content? The new Descent mode will be free for all players when it launches in June 2023, Ubisoft announced.
However, in order to access all new content in The Division 2 Year 5, you must own the Warlords of New York expansion.
What will the new DLC cost? The developer has not yet released any information about whether the new DLC will be paid DLC and what it will be. However, the final DLC, Warlords of New York, had to be purchased separately for The Division 2. This currently costs around 18.00 euros at Ubisoft.
However, it was said that there should be a special offer for the expansion before launch. It will also be hosting another free The Division 2 weekend so more players can try the game before they buy it.
While all of these announcements are exciting, it’s also important to mention that Ubisoft plans to continue providing The Division 2 with patches and updates. Year 5 is expected to feature several balance updates and bug fixes to make the game as smooth as possible.
Overall, the future of The Division 2 in Year 5 looks quite promising. However, it remains to be seen how successful this new content will be and how the game will develop.
