in Italy, Inter Milan salutes Skriniar, expected at Paris-SG

Inter Milan officially greeted defender Milan Skriniar on Friday, at the club for six years and at the end of his contract, expected at Paris-SG next season. “Arrived from Sampdoria in 2017, the Slovak defender leaves Milan after winning five titles (scudetto in 2021, Italian Cups in 2022 and 2023 and Italian Super Cups in 2022 and 2023)”, underlined the nerazzurro club on its site, on the last day of the Skriniar contract. The club sends “greetings and thanks from the whole interist family”. The transfer of the 28-year-old player to PSG has been in effect since January. Inter had then removed the captain’s armband from him, but had never formalized the departure of his defender, who had a last season disrupted by recurring back pain. Skriniar was injured on February 22 in the round of 16 first leg of the Champions League against FC Porto (1-0). He has since only been able to play ten minutes when he returned to Portugal on March 14, and had to resolve to have surgery at the level of the lumbar vertebrae, in France, in mid-April. He was on the bench, but did not come into play in the C1 final lost against Manchester City (1-0) on June 10.
