French Minister of the Interior by Gérald Darmanin the suspect opened fire at the police.
– The suspected perpetrator of the arson attack on the synagogue has been arrested. Thanks to the police and, above all, to the RAID troops, who acted in the situation very professionally, despite the shooting directed at the troops, Darmanin wrote in the message service X.
An internal source at the Prosecutor’s Office says that two people connected to the suspected arsonist were also arrested.

Two cars had been set on fire near the synagogue in La Grand-Motte. The gas tank in one of the cars exploded. There were five people in the building at the time of the explosion.
The mayor of La Grande-Motte told the Frenchman to Le Figaro that surveillance footage shows the suspect holding a handgun and carrying a Palestinian flag.
