In Fortnite, players can now protest about jerseys in the same way that the World Cup is banned

Several new football skins have been released in Fortnite. They’re fairly customizable—and strikingly colorful.

What are these skins? Fortnite will release the Let Everyone Know outfits in the shop on September 22nd at 01:00 GMT. There are ten skins with a clear connection to football: There is the “gatekeeper”, the “free kick goddess”, the “red card bully” and a few other examples – suitable for the current World Cup.

The special feature: The skins can be customized in detail, even more than most common Fortnite skins. You can either choose one of several pre-made color styles, which are based on different nations – or you can choose how the skin should look like yourself.

These skins can be found in Fortnite right now

From individual parts of the tops, to scarves, trousers, shoes and gloves, you can color any number of parts individually.

This makes extremely colorful combinations possible – which also makes rainbow-colored Pride skins possible, as reported by the “Eurogamer” portal.

Fortnite releases football skins that are as colorful as players want

In the past there were already some soccer skins in Fortnite. This also included licensed players. Marco Reus and Harry Kane are among the hundreds of skins in Fortnite, and the Brazilian Neymar was also part of the game.

There are currently no licensed skins in Fortnite for the current World Cup in Qatar, and the World Cup itself is not explicitly mentioned, reports Eurogamer. Instead, these particularly eye-catching skins have now been released at the start of the World Cup, as well as a whole series of football quests in Fortnite.

The skins can be made colorful

The skins were not explicitly released as Pride skins, but the timing is striking: Players could create particularly colorful football-style characters in Fortnite, while there are big discussions about the “rainbow” topic at the current World Cup in Qatar .

The Rainbow and the World Cup: There is a lot of criticism about the current World Cup in Qatar. Qatar’s legislation, which prohibits homosexuality, plays a role here. The rainbow colors are currently being used as a protest against this in the course of the World Cup – above all in the form of clothing that can be seen on visitors or reporters, for example.

The so-called “One Love” captain’s armband, with a colorful heart on it, also causes discussions. Several European associations wanted to use this captain’s armband at the games as a symbol of diversity and tolerance, but the world football governing body, FIFA, announced sporting sanctions for wearing this armband at the games. As a result, the associations of Germany, England, Belgium, Denmark, the Netherlands, Wales and Switzerland announced that they would no longer wear the bandage (via kicker).

In Fortnite there have already been various events, skins and other cosmetics in the past that explicitly focused on the Pride theme (via epicgames.com). The “Rainbow Royale” event in particular was very clear.

For example, Epic hosted the Rainbow Royale event in September 2022, calling it the “perfect time to celebrate our LGBTQIA+ community.” It was said, “Love, empathy, acceptance and all colors [zu] celebrate who make up the Fortnite community.”

Aside from the new skins, players in Fortnite are just waiting for the end of the current chapter 3. The end of the current chapter has already been announced – the start of Chapter 4 in Fortnite is now also clear.
