In the men’s F-league of floor bandy, we get to enjoy a tickling stoppage game this spring. In the 6th final match, Turku Palloseura beat Nokian KrP with 4–2 goals and leveled the series at 3–3.

The decisive stoppage game will be played on Friday in Tampere’s Hakametsä. It is the first time in the men’s floorball league that the championship is decided in the seventh game.

The best-of-seven series has been in use since the 2018–2019 season. In 2016, 2017 and 2018, a one-match super final was played.

Before that, the championship was decided by the best-of-five system.

A couple of games ago, TPS was stuck in a 1–3 situation. The people of Turku have shown a strong ability to withstand pressure in tight moments.

– It can be found in our DNA. We never give up. It’s in the Tepsi people’s blood. We fight and challenge until the end. Even if the winnings are forcibly taken home, to TPS Tuomas Ojala stated.

TPS played convincingly on Tuesday. It scored the necessary goals and defended patiently.

A young Latvian player Peteris Trekse scored two goals. They were responsible for the other goals Olli Laine and Ojala.

– We were able to keep KrP away from good scoring positions. We were smart on the ball ourselves. We got the necessary scoring positions and scored the goals.

The decisive stoppage game will be played on Friday in Tampere’s Hakametsä. How does it feel?

– It sounds good. Nothing but getting there harder than when we got here.

The championship pitty is disturbing

TPS won the opening game of the series, but after that Nokia took the next three in a row. In the two previous matches, Nokia has not been able to challenge TPS properly.

TPS’ former and Nokia’s current head coach Janne Kainulainen says Nokia had challenges with scoring efficiency.

– We could have been sharper. Places were created quite well. However, the guy was a bit more efficient today.

According to Kainulainen, Nokia does not feel pressure from the fact that TPS has won the previous two matches.

– Maybe some kind of stone will fall from the heart of the young team. They have tried to force a couple of games. You have to find a good mental state, so the victory on Friday won’t come from there.

The championship trophy was well on display in the sixth game.

– Our game requires courage and daring. When the championship flag is next to you and it’s flashing, it brings a little excitement. There’s no need to worry anymore when the season ends on Friday.

The championship would be the first for both teams.
