In Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, there has so far been no advantage in aiming at your opponents’ most sensitive spot. However, that is about to change now.
What change is this? In Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, there has been an ongoing discussion about the damage you deal with headshots (via Reddit). For many players, shooting at the head has so far been pointless. The damage multiplier for head hits was so low for many weapons that you needed as many hits to the head as to the torso to get a kill.
Treyarch has now adjusted the headshot multiplier slightly, meaning you will now need one less hit with most fully automatic weapons. The developers say: “In most cases, the weapons require one less headshot at all ranges to improve time to kill.”
However, Treyarch explains that the maximum damage range submachine guns are an exception because the developers feared that this would make the time-to-kill too fast.
Does that really make a difference? The developers expect the change to impact Black Ops 6’s current meta. The CHF barrel could also play a role here in the future, which additionally increases your headshot damage.
It is still difficult to estimate at this point whether the change will also bring an improvement in practical implementation and whether it will actually be worthwhile to aim primarily at an opponent’s head in the future.
In a few days, however, there will definitely be the first analyzes from the CoD community as to how much faster the time-to-kill is now on the different weapons with headshots.
On what weapons could this make a difference? An improved headshot multiplier could be particularly noticeable on weapons with a high rate of fire and/or on weapons with very low recoil.
The high rate of fire allows you to fire more hits to an enemy’s head in a short period of time. In Black Ops 6 you often don’t have much time to aim at opponents’ heads, as particularly good players take advantage of movement in fights and jump or slide a lot. A high rate of fire can make hitting the head easier. The same goes for weapons with low recoil. If you can control a weapon well, you’re more likely to hit the head consistently.
When it comes to assault rifles, for example, the already strong XM4 or the AS VAL could benefit from the change. The You can find a strong build for the XM4 here: CoD Black Ops 6: XM4 Build – This is how you should play the all-rounder
