In Chad, the government is counting on a record budget for 2024. The project was adopted during an extraordinary Council of Ministers last week. An increase in revenue of 120 billion CFA francs (183 million euros) to exceed for the first time the 2,000 billion CFA francs budget (3 billion euros), which the authorities promise to inject massively into the ministries and major works. But for some members of the opposition, this budget lacks sincerity and strongly resembles promises made in view of the end-of-transition elections scheduled for next year.
