In Brazil, at least eight people have died as a result of heavy rains, the country’s authorities said on Saturday.
Central and southeastern Brazil have been affected by strong winds and heavy rains since Friday. According to the local Meteorological Institute, up to 10 centimeters of water has been received per day.
According to the local energy company, there are still around 1.6 million households and businesses without electricity in São Paulo, the country’s most populous city.
Heavy rains hit Brazil after more than 160 days without rain.
