Black Desert Online starts the War of the Roses this year. 600 players can take part in this gigantic battle, fighting each other in teams of 300. Each team has a commander who takes on great responsibility for his team.

What kind of PvP mode is this?

  • The PvP mode covers the areas of Kamasylvia and Odyllita, the “land of darkness and ancient mysteries”
  • The area is so huge that the development team recommends horses as a means of transportation
  • The players start in their castle and have to kill the high commander NPC of the opposing castle
  • There are 20 sanctuaries guarded by an NPC. They serve as a respawn point when captured. Multiple Hallows provide buffs for the entire faction.

    • The winner of the battle receives the Crown of Roses. Both guilds and alliances can take part in the war. A faction is represented by a leading guild, with one player chosen as commander and three others as advisors.

    What can the commander do? The 299 players in a faction are led by a commander. He is the only player who sees the location of all players in his own faction. The remaining players only see their own point of view on a tactics card.

    The Commander has several abilities that he can use in war:

  • He can give factions and players quests to attack, explore or defend
  • The commander has a storage talent that can be used, for example, to reveal visibility to everyone, obstruct the enemy’s vision, or teleport units.

    • Since the responsibility is too great for one person, he can delegate tasks to up to three advisors. For example, you can order which legions take part in the sea battles to secure the castle harbors.

    How do I take part? First of all, interested players must apply before a war. Any guild that has achieved rank 4 or 5 in the Node War or a victory in a War of Conquest can apply to be the leading guild. Up to 100 players can apply for this area.

    Individual applicants who have an item level of 680 can also take part. Up to 200 applicants are accepted here.

    If you are not one of the lucky ones who were drawn to take part, you will still be on the waiting list. Reservists can still be added if the 300 player mark is not completely reached.

    In Korea, the first players were able to get started on October 15, 2023. In Europe the time has come on February 4th: on this day the battle is scheduled to take place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Central European time. Registration starts on January 24, 2024.
