What game is this about? AsHes is a horror survival game from the indie studio Yanmo Games. The game entered Early Access on Steam on June 24, 2024. During this phase, the game will remain available on the platform.

The open world of AsHes is inspired by Chinese folklore. You go on an adventure in the underworld alone or in co-op mode, discover secrets and face scary enemies.

What awaits you? AsHes is currently still in Early Access on Steam, so the graphics and gameplay may change a bit before the full release. However, the developers already promise that the core gameplay is in place and can be played well in the current version.

In the trailer you can take a first look at the different aspects that await you in AsHes. Among other things, you can expect typical survival mechanics such as exploring the open world, collecting resources and building a base. You can also build these together in multiplayer mode.

A few core elements of AsHes are:

  • Immersive exploration: In the open world you explore eerie landscapes, meet different ghosts and experience their stories.
  • Survival Adventure: Dangers lurk around every corner in AsHes. You must search for food, build shelters and craft weapons to survive.
  • Dungeons: Various ghosts await you. Some you have to fight and others you have to avoid. To increase your chance of survival, you can play together with other players.
  • Storyline: Exciting storylines are promised, all about the spirits of this world. In Early Access you should already be able to experience 26 story chapters.
  • Multiplayer: You can play AsHes in online multiplayer mode or face the challenges in local co-op mode.

    • Dark forests, spooky houses and flying dragons

    The trailer shows above all that the world and the ghosts in AsHes seem to be really diverse. You explore dark forests, but also spooky houses with hundreds of rooms. In a short scene you can even see how you drive through the world in a car in first-person perspective.

    You will not only encounter disembodied ghosts, but also doll-like figures, giant apes, undead and even flying dragons. In battle, you can face them both in long-range and close combat.
