In a future update Android will make voice dictation more

In a future update, Android will make voice dictation more fluid via Gboard, Google’s virtual keyboard. From now on, it will no longer be necessary to click on the microphone icon on the keyboard to launch the function.

Since it was integrated into iOS and Android devices, Gboard, Google’s keyboard, has established itself as one of the tools most appreciated by users. Indeed, it is a very popular keyboard application since it offers smartphone owners a whole series of very practical functions, such as a floating keyboard, GIF search, integrated Google search, but also a series of customization options and support for over a hundred languages. But that’s not all ! Gboard also offers voice dictation feature. A very practical tool that allows you to write messages without typos, even if users have their hands busy. To do this, all you had to do was click on the microphone icon available in Gboard and start dictating. A button that will soon become useless since Google plans to integrate a new function.

Voice dictation on Android: Google announces “seamless voice typing”

Dubbed “seamless voice typing,” this new feature allows Gboard to listen to the user’s voice and transform their words into text every time the keyboard is opened. More concretely, it will no longer be necessary to press the microphone icon to start dictation, but only to start speaking. Enough to make voice input even smoother, more natural, and above all more practical for users, who will no longer be faced with interruptions during their dictation and who will no longer need to wait for the voice input window to load. to begin their message.

This function was notably discovered in the 13.8 beta version of Gboard. To take advantage of this tool, you will need to activate the transparent voice input option in the Google keyboard settings. Thus, users who are not interested in this function can leave the option disabled. It is important to remember that this new feature in no way prevents you from writing your message in the so-called classic way, by typing on the keyboard. For the moment, we unfortunately do not know if this new function will be offered on all Android devices with Gboard or only on Pixel phones, Google smartphones often being favored when it comes to new features.
