In a few days Amazon will bring back a cult

It has been known for some time that Amazon Prime is working on a new edition of the popular and successful game show Takeshi’s Castle. The Japanese TV format premiered in 1986. Since then, numerous international offshoots have emerged. For the latest version, none other than Takeshi Kitano returns.

When does the new Takeshi’s Castle series start on Amazon Prime?

As Amazon Prime has just revealed via press release, the new Takeshi’s Castle series will be celebrating its premiere in just a few days. From the August 4, 2023 You can watch the new episodes on Amazon Prime. These are equipped with a German voice-over that comments on every event of the show.

The concept remains unchanged: once again we follow the brave participants in a downright impossible obstacle course, before heading to the eponymous castle. The way there is paved with flying giant mushrooms and other creatures that stand in the way of the individual candidates.

Only those who manage to pass all the challenges have a chance of winning. The greatest attraction of the show, however, is the participants to watch failure. A failure that is usually associated with great pain. We are excited to see whether Takeshi’s Castle will still resonate with pop culture in 2023.
