It’s time for our MeinMMO format “MMORPG News in Two Minutes”. We summarize the most important news about the best genre in the world. Get excitedThrone and Liberty, a touching Netflix documentary, new information about Patch 7.1 of FFXIV and much more.
The highlights of the week:
Throne and Liberty announced “big changes” for the MMORPG’s near future this week, receiving a lot of praise from the community. It was about bots, world bosses, new PvP content and upcoming progression systems like runes.
MeinMMO author Cedric Holmeier tells you in his analysis what the situation is with Throne and Liberty a month after its launch.
For the first time since launch, the developers of Throne and Liberty have taken action against real money trading (RMT). Some items are sold in the auction house for the equivalent of 200 euros, which explains the motivation of the bots to gain a foothold in Throne and Liberty.
In Throne and Liberty, it has recently become much more worthwhile to sign up for random dungeons. However, some players are using the new system to their advantage, which can lead to frustration. Others have already been extremely lucky, with three main prizes from four boxes.
For the first time, there is a new code for the western version of Throne and Liberty that you can redeem.
Update 44 has been released in Elder Scrolls Online and MeinMMO had the opportunity to talk to one of the developers about the new content and criticism from the community. 25 million players are now said to have played the MMORPG.
What else happened? The Netflix documentary “The Fantastic Life of Ibelin” touches the WoW community. Numerous players made a pilgrimage to the memorial of the late player Mats Steen. The makers of the documentary took a big risk with the implementation in advance, as they only obtained permission from Blizzard after three years of work.
