Actually, it should have been released in cinemas long ago. However, due to the pandemic and the Hollywood strike that shut down the film industry last year, Mission: Impossible 8 – The Final Reckoning has been postponed several times. Now nothing stands in the way of the cinema release. The trailer announces a huge action spectacle.
Once again, leading actor Tom Cruise, as IMF agent Ethan Hunt, plunges into one life-threatening situation after another. Over the past decade, the star has done everything he can to bring Mission: Impossible into the ultimate action blockbuster series to transform. Part 8 aims to fulfill this promise again.

The story of the sequel follows the events of the predecessor, in which an artificial intelligence caused problems for Ethan Hunt’s team. Originally, parts 7 and 8 were titled Dead Reckoning Part 1 and Dead Reckoning Part 2 planned. But now we know: The new film has the addition: The Final Reckoning.
The story remains connected, which is already clear from the cast of the film. Not only can Hunt rely on Benji Dunn (Simon Pegg) and Luther Stickell (Ving Rhames) as well as the sometimes more, sometimes less trustworthy Alanna Mitsopolis (Vanessa Kirby), who have been with the series for a long time.
Mission: Impossible 8 also brings back some new characters from Part 7:
Another person who shouldn’t be missed is Eugene Kittridge (Henry Czerny). The former IMF director made his comeback in Dead Reckoning after putting all sequels on hold after the first part. He is joined by Mark Gatiss, Rob Delaney and Indira Varma as representatives from NSA, JSOC and DIA.
New to the Mission: Impossible series include Ted Lasso star Hannah Waddingham and Katy M. O’Brian, who most recently starred in the bodybuilder thriller Love Lies Bleeding. We can also now look forward to the presence of Holt McCallany (Mindhunter) and Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation) in the IMF cosmos.
Mission: Impossible 8 was directed by Christopher McQuarrie, who serves as the series’ architect alongside Cruise. Since part 5, Rogue Nation, he has been directing the films’ incredible action sequences. As with Dead Reckoning, he teamed up again with Erik Jendresen (Band of Brothers) on the script.
