The statement made by TEHAD Electric and Hybrid Vehicles Association President Berkan Bayram on this issue is as follows: It happened: “Regarding the problems experienced in the installation of electric vehicle charging units in sites and apartments, the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change sent a letter to the Governorships of 81 provinces with the knowledge of EPDK. Accordingly, in the installation of charging units in residences; it was underlined that vehicle charging units are not ‘a structure requiring a license’. It was emphasized that since it is not within the scope of Article 19 of the condominium law, it is not necessary to seek the majority consent of four-fifths of all condominium owners. (Simple majority is sufficient) It was emphasized that there is no need to obtain a board of directors’ decision for those with allocated parking areas within the site. (If there is a wallbox or an existing line, a board of directors’ decision is not required. If there is no allocated parking lot, a simple majority will be required) Stations to be established in residences for the purpose of conducting commercial charging activities are outside the scope of these evaluations. On this subject, automobile journalist Emre Özpeynirci said the following: Wrote: “Important decision‼️ The Ministry of Environment and Urbanization has decided that the consent of four-fifths of the owners is not required for the installation of chargers required for electric vehicles in sites and apartments. A majority decision will be sufficient. In addition, no permission from the owners of the flats will be required in allocated parking lots. “
