According to the news of Xinhua, researchers from the National Astronomy Observations affiliated to the Chinese Academy of Sciences, in the observation they published in the scientific journal “Nature”, determined that the pulsars completed their mutual orbital movement in 53.3 minutes.

FASTEST ORIGIN RETURN SPEED EVER EVER EVER BEEN

The researchers reported that the binary pulsar, called “PSR J1953+1844” (M71E), has the fastest orbital rotation speed observed to date.

FAST Chief Engineer Ciang Ping noted that astronomers had the opportunity to observe for the first time the pulsars in transition from the “red ridge” type to the “black widow” type, noting that this would fill the gap in the theories of the evolution of pulsars.

Pulsars, formed in the exploding core of dying giant stars, provide scientists with the opportunity to observe the state of the laws of physics under extreme conditions with their high density and fast rotation feature.

Established in a deep karst depression area in Guicou province in southwest China, FAST became the “largest radio telescope in the world” with its 500-meter diameter dish, surpassing the 300-meter-diameter Arecibo Telescope established in Puerto Rico, an overseas territory of the USA.

The giant telescope, which is used to detect radio waves emitted from radio telescopes, stars, galaxies and black holes, has been continuing its regular observation studies since January 2020. (AA)
