The impeachment vote was about whether the president was guilty of seditious actions when he unexpectedly declared a state of emergency on December 3.
Parliament also voted on impeachment last week, but Yoon narrowly avoided impeachment. The ruling PPP party boycotted the first vote, but the entire parliament participated in the second vote today, Saturday.
Demonstrations have been held in Seoul, the capital of South Korea, in recent days in favor of the impeachment of the president. Thousands of people also gathered today at the parliament building to demand an indictment.
