Impaired driving charges ugly Wednesday in St Clair Township

Lambton provincial police made two impaired driving arrests Wednesday in St. Clair Township.

The first came after several reports of a suspected impaired driver near Kimball and Plank roads, police said.

Police located a vehicle on Plank Road a short time later and the driver was taken to the detachment, where it’s alleged tests found the alcohol in their system was twice the legal limit.

A 35-year-old St. Clair Township resident was charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired, police said.

Later that evening, at just before 7:30 pm, an OPP officer made a traffic stop and it’s alleged the driver failed a roadside test and tests at the detachment.

A 42-year-old St. Clair Township resident was charged with driving while impaired, police said.
