Im not going to die am I Saltburn star Barry
Barry Keoghan did it. He is currently being celebrated for his performance in Saltburn, and before that he received an Oscar nomination for The Banshees of Inisherin. His rise was apparently hard-won: before the filming of Martin McDonaghs he almost died of a flesh-eating disease. Saltburn star Barry Keoghan came close to losing an arm

Speaking to GQ, Keoghan revealed that he contracted necrotizing fasciitis shortly before filming The Banshees of Inisherin. In the infectious disease caused by bacteria the body’s tissue dies at great speed. According to Keoghan, it is fatal in 20 percent of all cases.

I’m not going to die, am I?” Keoghan said he asked the doctors, who were unable to give him a precise prognosis. In the meantime, the amputation of his infected arm was even under discussion.

Clearly, Keoghan was able to recover and began filming The Banshees of Inisherin just days after his recovery. “We were about four days away from starting filming and his arm was completely swollen“, remembers director Martin McDonagh. “But he just said: ‘It’ll be okay. I’ll see you on Tuesday!‘”
