With Vessel of Hatred, Diablo 4 has once again improved crafting and items. With a change you can now take action to prevent a few unfortunate attempts from rendering a strong item virtually useless. The idea is good, but players are still annoyed: hardening is still the biggest problem with the game.
What is meant by “destroyed” items?
This is how you can save your items: With Vessel of Hatred you can earn a “Scroll of Restoration” by completing the new co-op dungeon in the endgame. This role resets the otherwise limited hardening attempts.
This role is a consumable item. You can only use them once per item and consume them in the process. So you double the chances of getting the right rolls for your items.
Although the idea was initially well received, the role is now causing additional frustration. Because if you’re unlucky twice, you lose interest, say players.
“Why does this only work once per item?”
A user shares his opinion about the role on Reddit. He writes: Hardening is still the biggest problem with the game. While trying to harden a strong item with a major affix, he “bricked” it.
To save the item, he then used a scroll – only to have bad luck again when hardening it. The user writes: “I was looking forward to playing later. Now I don’t even have the motivation to log in.”
Thousands of fans agree and hundreds comment. The players discuss why there is such a limit on hardenings and why they shouldn’t be removed entirely. RNG has no place in crafting anyway.
Many people agree that there must be a certain limit – otherwise there would be no incentive to continue farming. It’s just that the current solution is rather annoying to them. But grinding in particular is still important content for many: “Just sit back and farm” – A certain content in Diablo 4 is perfect for busy gamer dads
