“I’m Emma from Career Star and we’re looking for young people in Sweden”.
So begins an SMS sent to several Swedish phone numbers. A job offer is presented briefly, followed by an invitation to contact a Swedish +46 number.
The recruitment notice was sent at the end of August, and on both Google and Tiktok users seem to have searched for the company and for “Emma”.
According to the police’s National Fraud Center, similar texts have been seen on social media, in chats and text messages before. So what is the mysterious message really about?
