I’m a Canine Behaviorist, and Here Are the Three Dog Breeds for Families to Avoid

Im a Canine Behaviorist and Here Are the Three Dog

A canine behaviorist revealed the three breeds of dogs which for him are dangerous or too difficult to educate for families with children.

Adopt a dog to enlarge the family or to offer a faithful companion to their child, many parents have already been tempted by the idea. However, this must be a considered choice, especially with regard to the dog breed. So yes, more than one can look cute in a photo, video or when visiting an animal shelter, but daily, some dogs are incompatible with family life and can even be dangerous for children. According to dog training specialist Will Atherton, three dog breeds in particular should not live in a family with children.

1 – The Belgian Malinois

On his Tiktok @iamwillatherton account, the canine education specialist does not recommend dogs from Belgian Shepherd Malinois breed. This type of dog is distinguished from others by its powerful physique, its fawn-colored coat and its black-colored extremities. He is known to be a good guard and defense dog. But for Will Atherton, of course “They are capable of accomplishing feats of obedience and training, but that doesn’t mean they’re suitable for families. They can bite children, hurt them, and most importantly, they don’t have switches, they are energetic all the time.

2 – The Caucasian Shepherd

There Caucasian Shepherd dog breed also not suitable for families with children, according to the expert, just like any breed of giant dog used for livestock“. These dogs are recognizable among a thousand thanks to their impressive size, their voluminous head and their very thick coat. In the case of the Caucasian Shepherd, they can be particularly protective of families, “but they are much more apt to live outdoors or on a farm“, explains Will Atherton in his Tiktok video before adding: “If you try to get them to live in a house, they won’t have the patience or the ability to cohabit with children. And, this often leads to bites on children.”

3 – The Dogo Argentino

THE Dogo Argentino is a fairly muscular dog, large in size, endowed with a powerful jaw and characterized by its white coat. According to the expertise of the canine behaviorist, “of all Mastiff breeds (a breed of dog that is crossed with the Dogo Argentino, editor’s note)it is the one that is the most incompatible with children.”

Remember: if you decide to adopt a dog for your family, do not hesitate to seek advice from breeders or animal specialists to find out if the breed of dog you have chosen can suit your lifestyle with your children.
