There has been discussion around the ice hockey championship league Ben Blood’s from Saturday’s tackle. Pelicans defender Blood was tackled by the Ilves captain in the first period of the second semi-final match Eemeli Finlandwhose match ended there.
The disciplinary committee of the SM League announced on Sunday evening that Blood will not be suspended for the situation. The decision took into account, among other things, that Blood did not cause Finland’s loss of balance.
Ilta-Sanomat interpreted on Monday (you switch to another service)that the Ilves striker Santeri Virtanen conveyed the threat of retaliation to Blood in an interview with on Saturday. Later, Virtanen responded to Ilta-Sanomi’s coverage On Twitter (you will switch to another service).
– These comments have been completely taken out of context from the sweat interview given after the game, which before I had only seen the situation live. Violent revenge is not in my DNA, nor in our team’s DNA, Virtanen wrote.

Virtanen also urged Ilta-Sanom to do better in the future – “DO BETTER!”.

Urheilu’s hockey experts Ismo Lehkonen and Top Nättinen agree on the disciplinary committee’s decision.
– Yes, the decision was right. Fortunately, it didn’t get worse, Lehkonen says.
– A very unfortunate and unfortunate situation. But when you properly rewind and rotate it from the video, the decision was right, says Nättinen.
Also according to Lehkonen, there was a lot of chance involved in the situation. He estimated that Eemeli Suomen’s balance was thrown even before she decided to stop by the side of the rink. However, Blood’s movement was such that contact did occur.
– Finland was in such a squatting position and then wobbled neck forward towards the wing. Terrible damage. Let’s hope that Finland will be able to play as quickly as possible, Lehkonen continues.
Expert Nättinen estimates that Santeri Virtanen has certainly understood what happened in the situation after the emotional upheaval. He doesn’t think the semifinal series will turn ugly.
– The ugliness of the series would not serve Ilve at least. The team should focus on playing and moving the match series forward.
