After a four-year break, Tampere Ilves is back in the European football games. The Tampere club will face Austria Wien in the second qualifying round of the Conference League.
As the winner of the Finnish Cup, Ilves went directly to the second round of the Conference League qualifiers. The game dates for the second round are July 25 and August 1.
Austria Wien is one of Austria’s big clubs. During its history, it has won 24 Austrian championships.
HJK, which is in the top fight of the football league, will face Lithuanian Panevezys in the Champions League qualifiers. If HJK knocks down the reigning Lithuanian champion, the Helsinki team will face Polish champion Jagiellonia Bialystok in the next round.
If HJK were to fall to Panevezys, the games would continue in the Conference League only in the 3rd qualifying round on August 8 and 15.
In the opening round of the Conference League qualifiers, Vaasa Palloseura will face Zalgiris, who leads the Lithuanian league. If Vaasa clears their way to the next round, the loser of the pair of matches between Swedish Elfsborg and Cypriot Pafos will face off in the second round.
Kuopio Palloseura’s opponent in the first qualifying round of the Conference League is Una Strassen from Luxembourg. A possible next opponent would be Tromsö IL from Norway.
