In Saturday’s SM league round, we saw an aerial goal from Aatu Jämsen of Lahti Pelicans right away in the opening set.
The battle for the top of Saturday’s league round of the Ice Hockey Championship is underway in Lahti. Pelicans from Lahti, who are at the top of the SM league’s fitness scale, and Tappara from Tampere meet in a full ice rink in Lahti.
In the opening set of the fight, a real example of individual skill was seen. Pelicans skilled Aatu Jämsen showed his puck skills, first making fun of one of Tappara’s top defenders in the same exchange Olli Juolevia.
After one misstep, we saw an even more amazing performance. Jämsen got the puck up to speed and skated behind Tappara’s goal, spun the puck on his shoulder and lofted the puck past the Tampere goalkeeper Eetu Randelin’s past.

The opening set of the battle for the top was the Pelicans’ artillery. In the longest winning streak in the club’s history (seven consecutive won matches), the exhilarating flock of pelicans scored 3–0 against Tappara in the opening set. The opening goal was scored Patrik Carlssonthe last two were written by Lahtelaisvatti Jämsen.
– There have been a couple of attempts before in the game, it’s nice that it was successful now, Jämsen stated in the half-time interview of the Pelicans’ media team after his goals.
