Then only Norwegian superstars Johannes Hösflot Kläbo and Simen Hegstad Krüger ahead of him in the results list.
– This was not something I expected, so it was awesome. It’s always cool when you surprise yourself, says Myhlback to Norwegian langrenn.com.
– My strategy for the last day of competition was to keep a steady pace and keep up, and then try to sprint strongly. But Kläbo is smarter than everyone else. I’m not quite there yet.

But then Alvar Myhlback must first join the Swedish national skiing team if the WC dream is to come to life. Now he admits that there is no contact with the national team management at the moment.
– If you want to go to the WC, you have to perform, and at the moment I have no dialogue with the national team. But I hope it can be over in the fall, says Myhlback and tells us that the plan for the coming season is to go both long-distance and traditional cross-country skiing.
– I am still young and have many years. I haven’t decided when I will decide. But I will run a mixture of long distance and traditional. I’m training both, so we’ll see what happens.
