On February 13, Ikea launched a new Augmented Reality game. The game can be played in 21 selected Swedish department stores. You play by scanning different QR codes in the department stores. The game has several stations with different experiences at each station.
AR games can be described as games where you get to take part in reality and the virtual at the same time. AR always happens in real time and the sensory impressions come both from reality and from digital elements created on your screen.
Ikea’s mobile game will teach children about the sea
The game is called “Little Adventure” and is based on the chain’s soft toy collection “Blue Winged”, writes Ikea on its website.
In the game, you should be able to see underwater animals floating around the department store, while learning about life and animals in the sea.
– Thanks to the game, while they are in our department stores, the children can learn more about life in the sea and what happens under the surface, says Helena Gouiveiamarketing manager at Ikea Sweden in a press release.
The game is temporary and will only be available to play during the four weeks of sports holidays.
