Ikea is conducting a major recall campaign for some of its products, which are likely to catch fire at any moment. If you have one, do not use it and return it to the store immediately!

Be careful with the devices and accessories you buy, because not all of them are good quality! You might think that choosing a well-known brand is a guarantee of reliability, but even large companies are not immune to problems! At the beginning of the year, Ikea had to carry out a mass recall of some of its USB chargers due to a significant risk of burns and electric shock. The Swedish firm is doing it again a few months later, this time with defective external batteries that threaten to catch fire at any moment!

Since July 2023, Ikea has been selling two models of portable batteries from the Varmfront brand. However, a manufacturing defect makes them susceptible to catching fire for no particular reason. The recall of the first model (reference 00559615, model E2038), which has a power of 10,400 mAh, concerns the 2313, 2316, 231 and 2319 series.

The recall of the second model (reference 70555647), which has a power of 5,200 mAh, applies to the 2318, 2319, 2322 series of this accumulator (reference 70555647, model E2037). The manufacturing date, corresponding to the batch number, is indicated on the back of the charger. The two external batteries were marketed throughout France, including in Avignon, Paris, Rennes, Toulon, Montpellier, Grenoble and Lyon.
