Gert Peter de Gunst was appointed last autumn as trainer of IJsselmeervogels, as the successor of Berry Smit who left. Even then IJsselmeervogels was in heavy weather, and that didn’t get any better when the Vogels lost five times in a row under De Gunst. The trainer managed to turn the tide, and IJsselmeervogels prevented relegation. Apparently, the Zwollenaar has built up insufficient credit, because the bad start in this football season is now fatal to him.
