IJCU Dragons started the game strongly and already led 4-1 after the first period, thanks to two goals from Kees Slagmolen and hits from Tim Schaasberg and Nigel Zwiers. In the second period, Nijmegen came back to 5-3. The Utrecht goal came from Tim Schaasberg. Via the third goal by Tim Schaasberg and a goal by Joel Baarsen, the final score was determined at 7-3 in the third period.
