Krista Pärmäkoski and Iivo Niskanen were in a great mood in the Finnish Cup of Skiing in Ruka. Krista Pärmäkoski is amazed at her peak condition, as she has come to the spring competitions “poorly trained”.

The competitions in the Finnish Skiing Cup in the hilly terrain of Ruka were for women Krista Pärmäkoski and in men Iivo Niskasen superiority. The Finnish Olympic medalists showed their great spring vibe and were well ahead of their national teammates.
Pärmäkoski defeated the woman who finished second on the 15-kilometer free skiing trip Kerttu Niskasen clearly. Pärmäkoski beat Niskanen by 54.4 seconds, skiing hard all the way to 36.56.0.
Pärmäkoski stated that the trip did not feel as good as it finally looked. The Olympic medalist was in a good mood in the finish line anyway.
– Yesterday’s heisse liebe was moving at a good pace, Pärmäkoski joked in an interview with Sport in the finish area, referring to the dessert of the Alpine countries.
– A little that frost still made this trip heavier, the whole thing was pretty even.
“A little of all this going to surprise”
Pärmäkoski, who rose to the third place in the overall competition of the Finnish Cup, said that he was waiting for the Finnish Championship skis and that he wanted to give his all. According to Pärmäkoski, there are exciting trips ahead with small differences.
Now he is traveling back to southern Finland to practice. Pärmäkoski has been in high spirits in the spring, despite constantly driving around Finland.
– This all goes a little surprising, because I have come to certain races with really bad training. There has also become quite a lot of sitting in the car here. I still want to go home to visit at these intervals as well, because there have already been a lot out of there this year.
– For today’s skiing, for example, I would not have won an Olympic medal, but fortunately my basic condition is good and safe, which is good, he thought.
Kerttu Niskanen was in a good mood after the race, despite his second place.
– Koitin keeps the race fast and steady from the beginning, but Krista went to her expenses today. At no point could I answer that, he said.
Niskanen also looked forward to the upcoming Rovaniemi Finnish Championships.
– With these prospects, Krista is also spending her time in Rovaniemi, but at least she is struggling really hard for all the other places. Really, everything is divided, he said playfully.
Iivo did not give any help
As expected, Iivo Niskanen won the men’s 30-kilometer race in Ruka.
Niskanen, who skied fast throughout the race, finally won 1.09.05. The difference with the second ascending Remi to Lindholm came in just under two minutes, a total of 1.50.7.
– It was a steady ride. I thought that when I catch that “Maken” in Vuorela, I’ll ski in that last five. It was a good day today, Niskanen thought.
Third, skiing Lauri Lepistöfor which the third place was important in the overall competition of the Finnish Cup, as the competition partner of the top two Joni Mäki was seventh.
Come fourth in the race Markus Vuorela instead, he made a request to Iivo along the way.
– I asked on the way that “you wouldn’t bother to pull me to the podium”, then Iivo replied that “just pull yourself”, Vuorela chuckled in the interview.
– I didn’t go there, but I was plowing, I wanted to let him ski out of his place against the other boys, so as not to confuse anyone’s struggle. I don’t know how it ended up, Iivo said of the other twists.
Vuorela finally got some traction from Joni Mäki. However, he immediately suffered a minor injury that watered down his dreams of a podium finish.
– When Joni left to pull at the request, my ski caught on the bench and at the same time I was stuck in his pee. Of course, I don’t know if I would be in it anyway, but such a little annoyance to that end, Vuorela said.
The Finnish ski season will continue next weekend at the Ounasvaara Finnish Championships.
