Niskanen had announced that he was available for steering duties at the raves in Kuopio, and he was informed of two horses for the evening’s departures.
Niskanen guided in the fourth start Petra Kivimaan coached by Sunrise Fria, who brought Niskanen the first win of his career as a trainer. Sunrise Fria, steered by Niskanen, raced right from the tail of the crowd to a clear victory.
– Today went really well. I can be satisfied with my own performance. Next, I will win at Ruka, if I don’t win the next trot start. This is a good start to the skiing season, Niskanen said.
In Kuopio, he still managed third place with the horse Kaffe Latte Sisu. Niskanen has now guided eleven trotting starts.
