Iivo Niskanen returns to the racetracks at the Les Rousses World Cup Skiing in France. Niskanen, who turned 33 on Sunday, told about it in his Instagram update. There will be a competition in France in a week (17.1.-19.1.).

– Morning porridge and 33 years. As a birthday present, I can inform Pasanen that he will buy a plane ticket to France. In Les Rousses, we go back to basics, Niskanen wrote in his update.

Niskanen’s fitness has been a mystery for a long time, because he missed the turn of the year Tour de Ski tour due to illness and did not compete on the Imatra SM tracks either.

France’s Les Rousses will host the World Cup weekend from Friday to Sunday. On Friday, it’s the 10s of freestyle skiing, on Saturday the sprints of traditional skiing, and on Sunday the traditional 20-kilometer co-starts.

The number one event of the season, the World Championships in Trondheim, takes place between February and March. Niskasen still has plenty of time to get in top shape by the World Ski Championships.
