Iivo Niskanen commented on his national team mate’s “wedging” – Ristomatti Hakola grinned about the situation: “Iivo didn’t get to try”

Iivo Niskanen commented on his national team mates wedging

In terms of Saturday’s men’s 4×10 kilometer WC relay, perhaps the decisive battle took place in the second part of the traditional race. The Puijo Ski Club, which started more than a minute back Iivo Niskanen took Jämin Jänte who came out on top Cross mat Hakolan Closed.

However, Hakola skied tactically wisely and did not give Niskanen easy passing opportunities.

– I knew that Iivo would catch on somewhere. I tried to cover enough for the climbs. I knew that if he wanted to pass, he would have to accelerate pretty hard. Iivo didn’t actually get to try to pass even once. I knew that if I kept at it, we would win, Hakola said.

Niskanen, who made a hard climb, said that he tried to pass Hakola a couple of times.

– Rise always jumped appropriately wedged in front of it. He had eaten so well that he came down slippery at the end. Couldn’t get rid of Jämi.

See in the video below how Hakola kept Niskanen behind him on the climbs.

Hakola competed earlier in the week in the World Military Championships, from where he moved to Inari. The competitions did not weigh on Hakola, who said that he was at his best in barrack accommodation.

– It’s a narrow enough box and 15 guys in the same room. That’s the best way to recover. I’d need that barracks condition even for a good fight. Enough edgy action, Hakola laughed.

Lauri Lepistö anchored Jämi’s relay to victory. Lepistö started for the anchor section together with the 18-year-old biathlete of the Puijo Ski Association Arttu Heikkinen with and ran away on another run to their own roads. Imatra’s Athletes Miro Karpanen eventually lifted Imatra to silver.

Imatra was 43 seconds behind Jämi and Puijo one minute and 24 seconds behind.

The Imatra anchor was surprised

Winner of the 15 km gold at the Soldiers’ World Championships Remi Lindholm had not recovered as well as Hakola.

– It wasn’t terribly good. Pretty loose skiing. There were mountains of such worm hoes. The upper body swayed and the legs moved in some direction. It wasn’t skiing. But I could have stayed more, said Lindholm, who skied the third section of Imatra.

Imatra’s anchor Miro Karpanen the goal was not to arrest Puijo.

– I started to ski from third place and secure it. When I noticed that Puijo was reset, I thought it was possible to brighten the bronze to silver. I got it taken. I’m satisfied.

Pertty Hyvärinen: “The season ended here”

According to Iivo Niskanen, Puijo’s message was not resolved, even though he did not get past Hakola.

– It was an ok bet and I was able to cheat “Pera” of some kind of position.

Having skied the three part of the Puijo Ski Club Perttu Hyvärinen according to which the message was solved by his part.

Hyvärinen couldn’t get rid of Jämin Markus to Vuorela.

– It’s all over. Now we saw the dark day for this winter. Wasn’t that about it now. The season ended here.

So you won’t see Hyvár in the 50 km race tomorrow.

Crashes and overtakes in a kinky bend

There is one kinky bend on Inari’s SC race tracks that has surprised at least one skier. Falls were seen in both the women’s and men’s relay. In addition to crashes, the corner also saw one handsome pass.

It remains to be seen whether similar spring festival movements will also be seen on Sunday, when the women’s 30 km and men’s 50 km competitions are skied in Inari.
