Ihor was on his way to work when the Russian drone struck • TV4 The news on the ground in Ukraine

50-year-old Ihor was on his way to work when a Russian drone crashed into his yard.
There is still smoke at his home when TV4 Nyheterna visits the village – hours after Russia’s massive air attack on Ukraine.
– I am of course scared because they are shooting at people. I am at a loss for words. There are only peaceful people here, he tells TV4 Nyheterna.

Russia’s massive drone attack on targets in Ukraine on Saturday was the most extensive that Ukraine has been subjected to since the war started. A total of 127 rockets were fired and 109 attack drones were sent across the country’s borders. Many were shot down, but six people were killed.

At the Lyutinskyi family outside Kiev, it is still smoking when TV4 Nyheterna visits the site after the Russian attack. Neighbors and friends have flocked to help after one of the drones exploded in their yard.

– Putin is an evil person. He kills civilians and ordinary people. There are no military objects or military installations here. It’s just a village, says firefighter Oleh Lyutinskyi to TV4 Nyheterna.

The 50-year-old gardener Ihor Lyutinskyi was lucky. He had just taken the bike to work when it rained.

– I am of course scared because they are shooting at people. I am at a loss for words. There are only peaceful people here, he tells TV4 Nyheterna.

“Hope that God will punish the Russians”

– We are all afraid. We are afraid wherever we go. We hope God will punish the Russians, says Ihor’s neighbor Ismail Bedyansky, whose wife was seriously injured in the attack.

– We hope that that damn fascist Putin will be put in place in the end, he continues.

But despite the fear, he is convinced that Ukraine will win the war.

– We will fight for a free Ukraine. That is what we want, says Ihor.
