The Igniting Healthcare 50/50 fundraiser is back for the summer with a guaranteed minimum $100,000 jackpot.

“We have been overwhelmed by the support that our recent holiday and spring 50/50s have received, and now that summer is here, we’re so excited to turn up the heat. . . with our $100,000 guaranteed jackpot,” said Christine Mitchell, Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation chief executive, in a release.
“(It) gives us a chance to give back to the community that supports our foundation and hospital year-round, and we can’t wait to present one lucky winner with a cheque for at least $100,000, and hopefully much more.”
The grand prize will be awarded Aug. 9, with a total of $10,000 in early bird prizes being awarded on Wednesdays this month: a $3,000 prize July 17, two $1,000 prizes July 24 and a $5,000 prize July 31, the foundation said.

Tickets can be purchased by Ontarians over 18 online at ignite5050.ca, in person at the foundation office at 9 Ursuline Ave. Chatham from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm weekdays, and at special off-site locations across the region.
Proceeds from the summer 50/50 will go to priority needs at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, upgrading equipment and facilities at the Wallaceburg and Chatham hospital sites.
“Since 2019, we’ve raised over $1.7 million through these 50/50s, with half that total going to support our hospital, and the other half being paid out to our lucky winners,” Mitchell said. “We want to see that number climb way higher this summer, and we know that our community will step up in support of this campaign as it always does.”
