IFK Mariehamn kept their place in the league FC

EIF and FC Lahti were at the bottom of the football Veikkausliiga. IFK Mariehamn rose above the relegation line with a win over AC Oulu.

IFK Mariehamn kept its place in football’s Veikkausliiga by ending its season with a 2–1 win over AC Oulu. The Swedish striker became the hero of the Åland people Adam Larssonwho scored both of the visitors’ goals.

FC Lahti, on the other hand, drew 0–0 at home against EIF from Tammisaari and fell from last to last in the series. Series jumbo EIF’s fate is direct relegation to the First League, while FC Lahti is eliminated from its place in the series against Jaro. KTP, who won the first league, has secured promotion to the main league.

IFK Mariehamn and FC Lahti entered the final round with equal points, but Lahti was one step higher in the standings thanks to a better goal difference.

In the third match of the Veikkausliiga challenger series, FC Inter beat Helsinki’s Gnistan 3–2 at home in Turku.

In the evening, the Finnish championship will be decided, for which Tampere Ilves and Kuopio Palloseura will fight. Ilves meets SJK and KuPS HJK.
