IFK Gothenburg grabs its first victory in Venlos message

Kaleva’s Rasti was fourth best Finnish club. Marika Teini lost the fight in third place to second in the last cross.

IFK Gothenburg celebrates its first victory in Venlo’s message. Swedish national team navigator, world champion in message design and sprinting Sara Hagström got to the anchor section in three minutes, not looking back.

Hagström anchors his team’s blue-and-white colors to the finish line more than four minutes before the second Swedish club, IFK Lidingö, which ran as an anchor Veronika Kalinina.

– It feels great, we have been looking for a profit for a long time and have been close many times, Hagström was delighted.

Gothenburg has long been close to victory. In the previous two Venlo posts in 2019 and 2021, it ranked second. In 2020, Jukola was not organized.

Lahti Orienteering rose to the second leg of the multiple world champion, who has already officially ended his career. Minna Kaupin, 39, with hard performance third. Lahti Karoliina Ukskoski was 10th in the opening leg and was 54 seconds behind.

The third leg ran Anna Närhi sent a young national team navigator Elisa Mattilan in a hard place in the third anchor section. The difference to Gothenburg was three minutes, but the second to the heavenly IFK Lidingö was only about 30 seconds.

However, Mattila fell into error when he left 90 degrees in the wrong direction from the eighth cross.

It has been 12 years since the Finnish team won. The Pyrene of Tampere rose to the highest podium in 2010.

NTNUI, who came in at the top of the first leg and led the second leg for a long time, was disqualified when Ane Dykorn, a runner in the second leg, marked the wrong cross.
