Early diagnosis and correct treatment are of vital importance in lung cancer, which has the highest rank in cancer-related deaths. While diagnosing cancer in its early stages can be challenging, one doctor shared four warning signs of lung cancer that can appear when you wake up in the morning. Dr. Anita Raja explained that lung cancer patients affected by the terminal condition are able to notice symptoms as soon as they wake up.

Dr. Raja said: “The patient may feel waking up drenched in sweat with fever. If this is accompanied by a dry cough that lasts longer than three weeks, or blood in your sputum, this may indicate lung cancer.”

Phlegm describes a thick type of mucus that is made in your lungs. If you have a chronic disease that targets the lungs, this can cause you to produce phlegm. The doctor added that if you experience any of these symptoms, you should “seek immediate medical attention.”
OTHER SYMPTOMS OF LUNG CANCER
In addition to morning sickness, lung cancer can trigger symptoms that include:
- Cough that does not go away after three weeks
- Worsening prolonged cough
- chest infections that keep coming back
- spitting blood
- pain when breathing or coughing
- Persistent shortness of breath
- Persistent fatigue or lack of energy
- Loss of appetite or unexplained weight loss
- Changes in the appearance of your fingers, such as becoming more curved or enlarged at the tips (this is called clubbing)
- Difficulty swallowing (dysphagia) or pain when swallowing
- Grunt
- a muffled sound
- swelling of your face or neck
- Persistent chest or shoulder pain.
However, in the early stages, lung cancer often has no signs or symptoms, making it difficult to diagnose the condition early.
