If you like The Mandalorian dont miss this new series

A new series anchored in the “Star Wars” universe is coming out on Disney+ this week. Fans of the franchise or those who loved “The Mandalorian” won’t want to miss it.

The lands of the galaxy far, far away continue to expand into infinity. After the release of the animated series Star Wars : Tales of the Empirefor the annual Star Wars celebration day (May 4), a new program continues to explore the universe created by Georges Lucas and should arouse the curiosity of fans, especially those who liked The Mandalorian.

Because this new series anchored in the universe Star Wars takes place in an era never before seen in live action productions. The plot takes place in peacetime, when the Jedi Order is at its peak and the High Republic is prosperous, a hundred years before the Phantom Menaceand therefore long before the birth of Anakin Skywalker (future Darth Vader) and Obi-Wan Kenobi.

In detail, the plot of The Acolyte follows the investigation led by a respected Jedi master to solve mysterious crimes that will pit him against a warrior from his past. The series thus seeks to show the gradual arrival of dark forces in an era of peace and prosperity, and blur the lines between good and evil.

In casting, the series The Acolyte brings together faces known to the public. Lee Jung-jae, who played the lead role of Squid Gameplays Jedi Master Sol opposite Amandla Stenberg (Hunger Games, The Hate U Give) in that of Mae, a sought-after warrior. They are joined in the cast by Manny Jacinto (The Good Place), Dafne Keen (Logan, His dark materials), Jodie Turner-Smith (Anne Boleyn), or even Carrie-Anne Moss (Matrix).

As is the case with the latest productions Star Warsit is not George Lucas who is in charge of The Acolyte. Leslie Headland (Russian doll), the screenwriter and executive producer, has however claimed to be a big fan of the galactic universe for several years and a keen connoisseur of the canon. Something to reassure fans.

In total, the series is made up of eight episodes, lasting approximately 40 minutes. This series can therefore be watched very quickly if you are in a hurry, knowing that the series Star Wars generally follow a weekly broadcast rhythm: only two episodes are put online this Wednesday, June 5, before the broadcast of one episode each week.
