Netflix is releasing a new 8-episode Spanish series that has everything to appeal to fans of medical and hospital series.
The worthy successor ofEMERGENCIES or of Grey’s Anatomy will it be on Netflix? The streaming platform is in any case putting online a new medical series in Spanish this week. And with its eight episodes, it seems to have all the ingredients to seduce fans of the genre.
This new program follows the daily life of doctors and medical interns at the Joaquín Sorolla public hospital in Valencia. Tension, emotions, emergencies and desires punctuate the lives of these staff, who are increasingly on a knife edge. The arrival of a particular patient highlights the difficulties of the Spanish public health system, and then triggers an unprecedented strike. This new series is Breathlessalso titled Breathe in original language.
As you can see, dramas, social and political criticism, but above all passionate love (and sexual) relationships are at the heart of this new Spanish-language program that promises to arouse the curiosity of Netflix subscribers. Enough to obviously recall the queen of the genre, Grey’s Anatomywhich remains unbeatable in this area. Breathe stands out, however, from models of the genre and from some attempts (like the Italian Doc whose three seasons were recently broadcast on TF1) by focusing less on medical cases and more on the lives of its interns and the political and emotional crises they go through, if we are to believe the trailer.
The cast includes Netflix talents recognized by subscribers who can be found in this new series: Najwa Nimri (Money Heist), Manu Rios (Elite) or Blanca Suarez (The Telephone Girls) all play opposite each other in this new series, created by Carlos Monteros, the mastermind behind the series. Elite.
At a time when all these Spanish series are now finished and the streaming giant is increasingly focusing on Spanish-language productions, Breathe Will it be the new hit of the new school year on the platform? To find out, know that the eight episodes are being put online on Netflix on Friday, August 30, 2024.
