There are still thousands of people in society who do not know their blood type. We need to know our blood group against all kinds of situations. A, B, AB, and O blood groups carry various risks in themselves. Studies on the risks of heart diseases have found that certain blood groups have a higher risk of developing heart disease.
THERE ARE LUCKY BLOOD GROUPS
Differences in blood group can also affect a person’s risk of heart disease. According to the American Heart Association, people with blood types A, B, and AB are at greater risk of heart attack or heart failure than those with blood type 0. The resulting increase in risk was not that great, meaning that blood groups A and B had an 8 percent risk of heart attack and a 10 percent risk of heart failure.
THE RISK OF THESE BLOOD GROUPS IS 51 PERCENT HIGHER
But the difference in the incidence of blood clots seemed much higher. According to the study, people with blood types A and B have a 51 percent greater risk of developing deep vein thrombosis. They also had a 47 percent higher risk of developing a pulmonary embolism, a serious blood clotting disorder that can increase the risk of heart failure. Dr. Douglas Guggenheim evaluated that the increased risk for blood types A, B, or AB is associated with inflammation occurring in the body. Proteins in these blood groups may play a role in increasing the risk of blood clots and heart disease by promoting more congestion in the veins and arteries.
MORE RESISTANT TO COVID-19
According to Dr Guggenheim, the same situation exists in the case of Covid-19. The risk of severe Covid-19 tends to be lower in those with blood type 0. A severe history of Covid-19 is known to often trigger heart problems and other cardiovascular diseases.
0 BLOOD TYPES LOSE MORE BLOOD
While people with blood type O have a lower risk of heart disease and blood clots, they are at greater risk for other health problems. According to studies, women with blood type 0 are at higher risk for bleeding disorders. A different study in Critical Care showed that those with blood type 0 tended to have worse conditions following a traumatic injury due to greater blood loss.
THIS BLOOD GROUP IS AT COGNITIVE RISK
On the other hand, those with blood type AB are at greater risk of cognitive impairment compared to those with blood type O. Cognitive disorders that may occur are difficulties in remembering, focusing, and making decisions.
