If you have these 2 euro coins in your pocket

It’s worth taking a moment to look at every 2 euro coin you come across: there are three coins that have special characteristics that can be worth a small fortune.

It’s worth taking a moment to examine each 2 euro coin that falls into your hands: there are three models with special characteristics that can multiply their value up to around 2,600 euros.

High-value 2 euro coins are most often commemorative coins, that is, collectibles minted specifically to celebrate an event, country or character, which you may even find in your pocket. The price trend is up, and it can be a great investment if you want to resell them later. But be attentive to the details and do not hesitate to consult experts.

According to numismatic specialists, there are three models that can bring you a profit of around 2,600 euros.

The list of 2 euro coins, whose value is multiplied in the collector market, is led by the model paying homage to Grace Kelly, in Monaco. This is a limited production (20,001 copies) featuring the face of the Princess of Monaco on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of her death. It was issued in 2007 by the European Central Bank. This special edition has already reached an approximate value of 2,600 euros.

In second place, you have to “fly” to Lithuania. In 2021, the local Central Bank dedicated a coin to the Zuvintas Biosphere Reserve, but some had incorrect text. This affected a batch of 500 €2 coins – out of the 500,000 units minted – and pushed their market value up to €2,000. Attention: you can find a “Zuvintas” piece for around 4 euros but this model will not be worth 2000 euros. Only the one with the wrong text can see its price take off. How to recognize it then? Instead of “LAISVĖ * VIENYBĖ * GEROVĖ *”, rare coins have the mention “DIEVS * SVĒTĪ * LATVIJU”. This last text is in Latvian and not in Lithuanian because the part factory designs parts for both countries and got the language wrong!

Finally, the rarest but not the most expensive coin: the 2 euro coin of Monaco, dated 2015, with the image of the fortress of the Rock of Monaco, issued on the occasion of the celebration of its 800 years. Only 10,000 copies were minted and there are few coins on sale at the same time. This very rare coin can be worth up to 1,000 euros and increases in value every year.
